Welcome to Pragya Pratisthan 2020-09-12     Academy Activities

On the occasion of the visit of Pawan Chamling 'Kiran', a senior writer and former Chief Minister of Sikkim, India to Nepal, a 'Meeting Program' was organized by Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan to welcome him. In the program organized at Pragya Bhawan, Kamaladi, the writer and former Chief Minister Chamling was received by Vice Chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti, Vice Chancellor Dr. Jagman Gurung, Satya Mohan Joshi, a man of the century, was honored with a garland and a dosalla as well as a gift of remembrance with eyes. On the occasion, he was also gifted some important publications of Pragya-Pratishthan including 'Nepali Comprehensive Dictionary'.

Speaking at a function organized to welcome the writer and former chief minister Chamling, Upreti said that Chamling's devotion, dedication and contribution to the development of Nepali language, literature, art and culture was special. He said, “Pawan Chamling has enhanced the pride of the Nepali caste by keeping the Nepali language, literature, art, culture and traditions alive in Sikkim even more than in Nepal. His contribution in this field is exemplary. We are happy to welcome and honor such creators in Nepal. ” He clarified that there is a plan of Pragya-Pratishthan to hold a World Nepali Language and Literature Conference with the participation of Sikkim, Darjeeling, Assam, Bhutan and Myanmar of India.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Mentioning that the creator Chamling is also a seer, Gurung said that the satsang with Chamling will bring success to the creators. He said, "Just as Chamling Pathibhara succeeds in his dream journey with the power and compassion of his mother, so the creators will also succeed in the journey of creation if they do satsang with him."
Addressing the program organized at his reception, the distinguished guest Shrestha Chamling expressed his gratitude to Pragya Pratisthan. He said, "I am very grateful for the goodwill and respect of the Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan for being honored here today in the presence of great writers like Bairagi Kainla and Satya Mohan Joshi." Stating that much work remains to be done for the upliftment of Nepali language, literature, art and culture of the world, he clarified that cultured language, literature and culture is his original dream. Chamling said, “A world conference is necessary for the preservation of Nepali language, literature and culture. Wherever the Nepali caste lives, our identity is Nepali and only our language, literature and culture preserve this identity. ”

Pragya-Pratishthanaka Member Secretary Pvt. Highlighting the work and personality of Chamling, Jagat Prasad Upadhyaya said that Chamling was equally successful in politics as well as literature. "As the Chief Minister for 25 years, he holds the record of being the longest serving Chief Minister of India after Jyoti Basu of West Bengal and has done equally remarkable work for the prosperity of Nepali language and literature through Nirman Prakashan." He said that despite the geography, language, literature and culture have connected Nepal and Sikkim emotionally.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan Bairagi Kainla, Vangmaya Shatabdi Purush Joshi, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Music and Drama Pragya-Pratishthan Narayan Bhakta Shrestha 'Ryan' and other distinguished creators were present in the program.
